'Show must go on as it's boys' time to shine' - Jake

With only six celebrities left in Dancing With The Stars, Jake Carter reckons it's impossible to determine who will be eliminated next.

The 19-year-old singer said the contestants have experienced extra challenges in rehearsals this week thanks to Storm Emma.

"They've all been great. Everyone has had great weeks. Everyone who is there now at this stage of the competition can dance. You really don't know who is going to be in the bottom," he said.

"There's been a lot of chopping and changing this week because of the snow.

"This week is different as well because we have two dances. It's been a disjointed week, but the show must go on."

Jake, who is partnered with Ballyfermot woman Karen Byrne, admitted she has a strict work ethic in rehearsals.

"She's tough. She knows how to have the craic but she knows how to crack the whip as well," he said.

"She's a great teacher, in fairness, she runs a dance school so she's well used to it. She's good with beginners."

Jake and Olympic walker Rob Heffernan are the only men left in the competition and have bonded well, with Jake insisting this week is the boys' "time to shine".

Supportive

While his brother, country singer Nathan Carter, has been supportive of Jake's turn on the show, he doesn't think the Wagon Wheel star will follow suit next year.

"He came in the first week and he's coming on Sunday as well, I think, if he can make it down," he said.

"He's enjoying it and he's watched it. I'm not too sure, he probably wouldn't do it. He's no good at dancing, really."

Dancing With The Stars is on RTE One tomorrow at 6.30pm.
