Sherlock in wax? It's elementary Benedict
Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has been measured for a wax figure at Madame Tussauds and joked: "Finally, I can photobomb myself."
The actor famously "photobombed" the red carpet at the Oscars earlier this year when he hijacked picture opportunities with other stars.
The 38-year-old went along to the London attraction to allow the sculptors and technicians to take dozens of measurements and photos for his likeness which will make its debut in October.
"What a weird and wonderful compliment to be included in the ranks of talent already committed to wax. I've been accused of being wooden in my work, but never waxy.
"The main privilege for me was seeing the amount of exacting work and skill brought to every detail of this art form. It's an extraordinary experience," he said.
The figure will be placed in the A-list section of the attraction - which is close to Sherlock Holmes' residence at 221b Baker Street - alongside figures including Dame Judi Dench, Kate Winslet and Brad Pitt. His figure will be dressed for the red carpet in a stylish dark suit.
Tussauds manager Ben Sweet said: "Our guests made it clear they wanted to see him in the attraction."
