SPOTTED a minister on public transport lately? Well it certainly wasn't Justice Minister Alan Shatter on the Luas Red Line.
The Dublin TD has side-stepped a suggestion that he should ditch his State car to see how the normal commuter travels.
The Luas Red Line has been criticised as a base for anti-social behaviour. But when asked by Matt Cooper on Today FM if he had taken the tram to see the problem for himself, Mr Shatter said he hadn't done so "recently".
Pressed about whether this might be a useful exercise, Mr Shatter simply opined that any anti-social issues arising on the Luas or on Dublin Bus should be reported to the Gardai.
