Shaky week for bonds

IRISH government bonds are facing an unsteady week on the markets as the National Treasury Management Agency prepares to auction over €1bn of debt tomorrow.

Before the weekend, 10-year bond interest rates closed at around 6.3pc, up from 5.8pc a week earlier.

The shaky environment may spur the government to seek an early agreement on the final cost of Anglo Irish Bank bailout.
