Ryanair's 4m landmark
BUDGET airline Ryanair passed a landmark as it recorded its four millionth passenger on a flight between Knock and major cities.
Ryanair on its own accounted for more than 67pc of Knock airport's record tally of 84,000 passengers in August.
The airline's first Knock flight departed to London Luton in December 1986.
Ryanair now operates 12 routes to deliver 400,000 passengers each year, supporting and sustaining 400 local jobs in Mayo.
The winning passenger, Sr Maud Murphy from Carramore, Mayo, received the prize of a donation of €4,000 to a charity of her choice and a holiday to Lanzarote including accommodation at the four-star Costa Calero Hotel.
