Ryanair: We can grow Shannon traffic by 1m

RYANAIR said it has submitted a written proposal to the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), offering to raise passenger numbers through Shannon from 300,000 to 1.3 million a year.

It said that Ryanair's written offer to DAA boss Declan Collier offers to grow Ryanair's Shannon traffic if the low-cost airline is granted the same discount scheme enjoyed by Aer Lingus for its transfer traffic at Dublin Airport.

"We sent a written offer to Declan Collier, the boss of the DAA monopoly, committing to grow by 1 million additional passengers at Shannon over the next five years," Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary (above) said.
