FRENCH rugby supporters in Dublin for the Six Nations match last month provided a major boost to struggling hotels.
Research company CityOccupancy outlined that occupancy rates peaked at 91pc across the city on the Saturday before the match.
A total of 10 hotels were full for either one or two nights over the weekend.
The figures show that many hotels in Dublin 2, the city centre area, managed 100pc occupancy for up to four nights last month.
"At current rate levels, we would anticipate further months of year-on-year rate growth, with February average room rate already being ahead of March, April, May and June 2010 figures," said a spokesperson from CityOccupancy.
