DIGITAL giant Samsung has struck a deal with RTE to broadcast the station's player application on its televisions.
The agreement means viewers will be able to catch up on programmes from the RTE player directly on Samsung Smart TVs.
The move marks RTE's entry into the Smart TV market.
"RTE's strategy is to be available wherever and whenever our audience wants," said the national broadcaster.
"We're excited to partner with Samsung on our entry into the Smart TV market.
"Audience engagement, interaction and satisfaction is our primary focus," a spokesperson added.
