Ronan Keating made his debut in Once, the musical in the West End in London this week and critics are raving about his performance.
Ronan dedicated the opening night of the show to the late Stephen Gately and spoke about the show being set in Dublin saying, "this was my home town, my people, and the place where I began my own music career".
The musical is based on the movie with the same name and tells the story of a Dublin busker called Guy who falls in love with a Czech girl.
According to reviews, many of the audience members were reduced to tears when Ronan and his co-star, Jill Winternitz, sang the hit song Falling Slowly.
And despite Ronan's nerves before taking to the stage, his debut performance won him a standing ovation from the audience.
His girlfriend Storm Uechtritz was there to support her leading man on the night and was so proud of his performance.
"On our way home from an incredible opening night by Ronan Keating...Even more good times to come. So happy for you baby," she wrote online.
Swapping He's used to singing with Boyzone and speaking about swapping concerts for a musical, Ronan said, "To be honest, I actually never thought I would do the West End, but it's this role that excited me and made me want to do it.
"It has great dialogue, great direction. And great songs, my God the songs. It's hard to call it a musical. It's not really a musical it's more like a play with great songs," he added.
Keating (37) also revealed that he may plan to release studio versions of the musical's songs.
"There might be live recordings along the way," he added.
