Ronan and Rory get in the swing at celeb golf launch

Popstar Ronan Keating got into the swing of things at Archerfield golf course this week.

The former Boyzone star (37) donned his finest golfing gear to practise his long game at the new Nike Golf facility, a luxury spa and hotel in Scotland.

Describing it as an "amazing day", he was suitably attired in a pair of blue pants with a matching shirt and a darker sweater vest.

He joined stars including Rory McIlroy as he helped launch the new facility. A keen golfer, he holds an annual golf fundraiser for the Marie Keating Foundation.

Meanwhile, he's gearing up to make his West End debut in the hit musical Once from November.

He said he was "bowled over" when he first saw the hit show and called the production a "modern-day masterpiece."

Keating said he was "completely overwhelmed" to be offered the role initially.

"I knew it would be perfect - this was my home town, my people, and the place where I began my own music career," he said.

"But as exciting as that is, it's scary, too. I've never performed on the West End, and this is a huge challenge."

The story of an Irish busker and a Czech immigrant bonding over a love of music, Once was first a low-budget film in 2007, winning an Oscar for best song with Falling Slowly.

It transferred to the stage in 2012, and is currently playing at London's Phoenix Theatre as well as on Broadway.
