Rihanna centre stage as Bono rolls out big guns for Ali's NY show
Rihanna lent Bono a helping hand to launch wife Ali's latest clothing line under the label Edun.
Hanging out in the front row together at New York Fashion Week was the U2 frontman, his wife Ali Hewson, their actress daughter Eve and the Barbadian singer.
And sandwiched in between Bono and Rihanna was Laurie Anderson, the wife of the late Lou Reed.
The A-Listers took up the best seats in the house for the first showing of Edun's spring collection for 2015.
Edun, which spells nude backwards, is an ethical clothes company that was founded by both Bono and Ali in 2005.
The celebrity endorsement should do the fashion business good because according to its latest accounts it could do with a boost.
Figures lodged with the Companies Office show that Edun Apparel Ltd recorded a loss of $6.4m (€4.87m) in the 12 months to the end of December 2013.
The loss last year followed losses of $7.88m (€6m) in 2012 and $8.5m (€6.5m) in 2011.
The couple set up the clothing brand to promote fair trade with Africa and to join the world of fashion with a contemporary label.
Edun sources its fabrics in countries like Tunisia, Uruguay and Uganda.
Also at the show was band-mate Adam Clayton and new wife Mariana Teixeira.
Bono and Ali's daughter Eve (23) took time out of her busy acting schedule to lend her face to the front row for the label's spring launch.
