Relationship with my cancer stricken mum is still difficult, says Nadia
Model and singer Nadia Forde has told how her relationship with her estranged mother, who is currently battling cancer, remains strained.
Nadia (25) and her brother Stephen were raised by their grandmother when her parents split up when she was aged seven.
Her mother, Berenice Paolozzi, is currently undergoing treatment, but the brunette revealed that things are still tough between the pair.
"She is doing well. She is still in treatment," she said.
"It's a weird thing, I get asked about it a lot and it's not something I volunteered to be out there, but it is out there.
"It's a difficult relationship. Day-to-day I don't know where I stand with it. Different days, I feel different things," she said.
"Anybody who has cancer in their family, no matter what their relationship is, estranged or not, will understand what a horrible illness it is," she added.
While she might have a tough relationship with her mum, Nadia has a close circle of friends.
She says she's not a "party girl" but Nadia made an exception last weekend to organise a hen night in London for her best friend Debbie O'Leary.
Debbie is set to marry former Ireland and Munster rugby player Peter Stringer this summer, and Nadia made sure they had a night to remember.
Debbie and the former Munster star have been together for seven years and will get hitched in Bath, where they are now based, in June.
