Rain, gales and freezing cold this weekend
IRELAND is to be battered by gale force gusts and buckets of rain this weekend.
It may be summer, but the weather means that there isn't much need for sunglasses at the moment. But the good news is that wintry conditions are not to stay around for too long.
Weather forecasters said the current indications are that next week it may be dry and pleasantly mild.
Met Eireann said that it would be wet and windy today with spot flooding occurring.
Showers will be heavy and possibly thundery, merging to give some longer spells of rain.
And Met Eireann warned that there will be gale force gusts on the coast.
Tomorrow it will be dull at first with further outbreaks of rain. There will be some sunshine breaking through the day though, with scattered showers in the afternoon.
Temperatures are still on the cool side for mid June with afternoon values of 13 to 16 degrees celsius.
