Gardai are investigating after a woman's body was discovered in "unexplained circumstances" at a house in Killiney.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was found in the property on Laurel Lane yesterday with no obvious signs of how she met her death.
A post-mortem examination is due to be conducted today, and this will determine the course of the garda investigation.
Last night, a source said there was "no obvious sign of third party involvement" in relation to the death.
However, the circumstances around the discovery were described as "unusual".
"We won't know what way this investigation will go until a post-mortem is carried out," the source added.
The house was cordoned off by gardai last night as they carried out inquiries.
Detectives from Dun Laogh- aire are leading the investigation.
