GARDAí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man found in a house in Nenagh.

It is understood the man's body was found soaked in blood in a bathroom in the house, which is located on McDonagh Street in the Tipperary town, at around 6pm.

A source said the man's body was discovered in the shower.

An ambulance crew was dispatched to the house, but the 36-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

EXAMINATION

The man's body remained at the house overnight as gardaí began a forensic examination.

The office of the State Pathologist was informed and a preliminary examination of the body took place at the scene before it was removed to University Hospital Limerick for a full post-mortem.

"We are examining all aspects as to how the man may have died," a garda spokesman said.
