Photo that made a big splash was FG set-up
IT'S the photo that caused a splash on many of the front pages yesterday, but it appears something fishy was going on.
Fine Gael's Eoghan Murphy goes after the floating vote and a photographer just happens to be there.
Too good to be true? Well, it was. Cllr Murphy, a candidate for Dublin South East, has now admitted that he was actually canvassing one of his loyal lieutenants.
The young man who braved Dublin's Great South Wall was actually Tiernan Sparks who works for the city councillor.
"Well it wasn't a complete set-up -- I really was down canvassing in the area and I had my swimming gear with me," explained Mr Murphy.
"We came up with the idea for the shot and poor Tiernan got the short straw."
All in a day's work for poor Mr Sparks.
