Pfizer sells Cork plant

BioMarin Pharmaceutical has agreed a deal with Pfizer to buy its manufacturing facility in Shanbally in Cork.

Pfizer says it will close the Shanbally facility by September with the loss of 65 jobs.

The plant is being taken over by another pharmaceutical company, California-based BioMarin, which says it will create 100 jobs there over five years.
