Pensioner vanished before his death

GARDAI have appealed for information on the whereabouts of a pensioner who vanished for a month before being discovered dead.

The body of Patrick Coulter (65) was discovered by gardai last Thursday, February 10, at his home in Beech Hill, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.

The pensioner had not been seen alive since January 12 at St Andrew's Street Post Office, Dublin 2, and was described by gardai as a "reserved person who kept to himself".

A garda spokesperson said that they are interested in discovering Mr Coulter's movements between January 12 and February 10 and in particular the days immediately preceding February 10.

Mr Coulter was discovered dead in his bed on February 10.

He lived in a small maisonette on Beech Hill Court in Donnybrook. His sister has been tracked down and notified of her brother's death. Anyone with information is asked to contact Donnybrook Garda Station on (01) 6669200.
