THE Script's Danny O'Donoghue almost missed out on a gig in Dubai this week - because of passport trouble.

Dubliner Danny (34) ran into some airport drama this week and was delayed for two hours as authorities questioned the validity of his passport.

During the hold-up he warned that there could be some disappointed Script fans in the UAE if he failed to clear security.

Luckily for the band's supporters he managed to leave the airport - with a warning to be out of the country within three days.

The trio performed on the opening night of the RedFest DXB at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Thursday night.

The Dubliner hopes to sort out his travel issues before their 52-date tour, which will keep the band on the road until August.

The band's profile has been steadily rising, both at home and abroad, with the release of their fourth album, No Sound Without Silence.
