Oz seven battle to get home for Paddy's Day

MANY young people are happy leaving Ireland to travel to Australia -- but one group of Dublin friends are desperate to get home.

Daragh Hanrahan, Jessica Hamilton, Rob Cowap, Fionnuala Keogh, Gary Pasquetti, Emer McGinn and Anthony McGuirk all hail from the city's northside.

The group, calling themselves The Secret Seven, are finalists in the 7Up Free 'Bring Them Back For The Craic' competition, and have spent the past few weeks chasing valuable votes that could win them a trip home to their families for St Patrick's Day.

They are the only team from the capital left in the competition and have rallied support from Dublin GAA stars and celebrities as well as family and friends.

"It's like our own general election -- we've been driving everyone crazy," said team member Emer McGinn, from Sutton.

"We're all based in Darwin and I think everyone in the city knows of our plight by now. We already have over 30,000 votes on the website but it's come down to the wire and we're neck and neck with one other team. We really need everyone to vote."

The winning team will be flown home to celebrate at a special reunion party hosted by 7up Free and headlined by The Coronas.
