Over 3,000 new homes for city planned
Plans have been unveiled for more than 3,000 homes as well as shopping and offices in south Dublin.
The US investment firm Hines yesterday launched its Cherrywood plan, which will effectively create a new suburb in the capital.
Hines bought the Cherrywood site close to the N11 dual carriageway last year. The development involves the building of a new town centre, schools, leisure facilities, and about 3,800 new houses and apartments, as well as 170,000 sq metres of office space.
Hines wants to construct an elevated, pedestrianised town plaza modelled in part on New York’s High Line district. Parking and road access will run under the town centre.
