WE'RE a nation of Jamie Oliver wannabes, desperate to show off our skills in the kitchen.
Hundreds of Irish foodies, who have devoured books such as Jamie's 30-Minute Meals or Rachel Allen's Entertaining At Home, have now signed up for a home-grown version of Come Dine With Me.
The show is expected to air on TV3 this summer and amateur gourmet chefs are already coming up with juicy menus that could see them win the €1,000 prize.
And celebrity versions of the programme have already featured Irish stars trying to show off their culinary skills on camera -- among them are gardener Diarmuid Gavin, Big Brother star Brian Dowling, Calum Best, and footballer Stephen Ireland's partner Jessica Lawlor.
The show will be going from Dublin to Galway, from Donegal to Cork and "everywhere in between", says TV3.
