MILLIONS of people across the US tuned in to see Ireland's top chefs create culinary wonders for St Patrick's Day.

Tourism Ireland arranged for Catherine Fulvio, Neven Maguire, Rachel Allen, Kevin Dundon and Derry Clarke to feature on American TV channels in a bid to promote tourism.

Some five million people saw Catherine on NBC's top-rated programme The Today Show.

And Catherine also prepared lunch for some of the top culinary and food writers in New York, at an event organised run along with Kerrygold.

Ambassadors

Nevin, Kevin and Derry, among others, appeared on a variety of slots on QVC, the home-shopping channel.

"Catherine, and the other chefs who were in the US over the St Patrick's period, are fantastic ambassadors for the island of Ireland and our world-class food," said Joe Byrne, Tourism Ireland's executive vice president for the US and Canada.
