Origin revenues are up

Agri-services group Origin Enterprises posted a 3.5pc year-on-year increase in revenue in the three months to November 1 - the first quarter of its financial year.

The growth was spurred by favourable currency movements and the results of the company's €12.72m acquisition of a controlling interest in Ukrainian firm Agroscope.

Like-for-like revenue fell by 5.6pc mainly due to lower fertiliser and feed prices.

Liam Igoe from Goodbody Stockbrokers (left) said the outlook for the group "remains favourable".
