O'Dowd snaps up €1.8m villa in LA's trendy Beverly Grove region
Bridesmaids star Chris O'Dowd has reportedly snapped up a beautiful villa in Los Angeles.
The 39-year-old Irish star is said to have paid just over $2m (€1.8m) for the two-storey Spanish bungalow in LA's affluent Beverly Grove neighbourhood.
Architectural Digest, America's prestigious property magazine, said: "Bridesmaids star Chris O'Dowd is reportedly the new owner of a Spanish bungalow tucked away in the Beverly Grove neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
"If it's true, he paid a tidy $2.15m for the abode.
"It hasn't been sold in more than 50 years, meaning that O'Dowd and his wife, writer-TV presenter Dawn O'Porter, may want to commission a few upgrades," the magazine added.
The 280sq m property, which comes with five bedrooms and three bathrooms, was built in 1930.
Roscommon actor O'Dowd recently wrapped filming the coming-of-age movie, How To Build A Girl, alongside Beauty And The Beast star Emma Thompson (59) and The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil (33).
It is based on Caitlin Moran's novel and charts the life of teenager Johanna Morrigan (Beanie Feldstein) who reinvents herself as Dolly Wilde, a "fast-talking, lady sex adventurer".
Thre film follows Morrigan as she moves to London and gets a job as music critic in the hope of saving her poverty stricken family in Wolverhampton.
O'Dowd has also been filming new TV series The Twilight Zone, an updated version of the classic TV show featuring tales of science fiction, horror and mystery.
He was most recently seen in the box office blockbuster Mary Poppins opposite Emily Blunt.
Get Shorty star O'Dowd moved to Los Angeles with wife Dawn (40) nearly a decade ago because he was spending so much time filming in the States.
O'Dowd married Dawn at an intimate ceremony with family and friends in London back in 2012.
Guests included Brian O'Driscoll and his wife, Amy Huberman, Father Ted creator Graham Linehan and TV presenter Caroline Flack.
Afterwards, Dawn decided to adopt a unique take on the marital surname by adding an "O" to her name.
Their two sons, Art and Valentine, are US citizens as they were born in LA.
