Novelty Easter eggs to go under the hammer

IT LACKS boutique stores or trendy eateries, but the CHQ is finally filling up with something – eggs. Lots and lots of novelty Easter eggs.

For the past several weeks, more than 100 over-sized eggs have been scattered around Dublin city centre.

The Big Egg Hunt is being run in conjunction with the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation, which raises money for sick children.

Artists who decorated the eggs include Guggi, Rasher, John Rocha, Joe Duffy and Cormac Battle.

The hunt will culminate in a gala black-tie ball at the Four Seasons Hotel Dublin on March 23, where the top 30 eggs will be auctioned live. But before that, all 100 eggs are being carted to the CHQ which is just off the north quays, in the IFSC.

The former bonded warehouse recently went on the market for €10m.
