Norwegian boss blasts delays

The head of Norwegian Air Shuttle (NAI) has expressed frustration at the length of time it is taking the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to approve an application that will allow NAI's Irish subsidiary to operate flights between Europe and America.

US officials have been dragging their heels on approving Norwegian's application amid lobbying by unions opposed to the airline's plans.

"It has taken far too long for DOT to fulfil its legal responsibility and approve NAI's application," said Bjorn Kjos (left).

"We are doing exactly what the Obama administration wants: creating American jobs, bringing tourists to the United States and offering Americans cheap flights."
