Nintendo eyes smartphones
Nintendo shares soared after the famous games firm said it has teamed up with Japanese company DeNA to develop mobile games exclusively for smartphones.
The companies said that all of Nintendo's franchises will be "eligible for development and exploration".
DeNA is working on mobile games based on Nintendo's big console and hand-held brands. Shares in Nintendo leaped by 21pc on the back of the announcement. DeNA said games could be as big as mobile hit Candy Crush.
