New rules for banks

THE CENTRAL Bank has made recommendations that errors made by financial firms should be rectified within six months and errors not rectified within 30 days must be reported to the bank.

The Bank has published a consultation paper on proposed ways to review the Consumer Protection Code in order to strengthen consumer protection measures. The review is open to submissions until January 10, and the final code will be published mid-2011.
