New PSNI superbike roars past the gardai
Gardai are 'green with envy' over the PSNI's life in the fast lane.
This week, the Police Service of Northern Ireland took delivery of new Ducati Panigale, leaving An Garda Siochana's Traffic Corp fleet trailing in their dust.
The superbike, described as the 'Ferrari of the bike world', can hit speeds of up to 180mph, far in excess of Garda motorbikes.
The bike was unveiled ahead of the Ulster Grand Prix this week and TV3 presenter Stephen Murphy tweeted a picture to the gardai accompanying the words "Over to you".
Shortly after the tweet was posted, the gardai expressed their jealously via their own official Twitter account.
"We wish our colleagues in the PSNI well with this wonderful bike. I doubt we'll be getting one anytime soon. Green with envy," the tweet read.
The Ducati will be used by police to highlight road safety to bikers at the race.
