New €10 note launched today
The Central Bank is launching a new €10 banknote today.
The new note is also being introduced across the rest of the eurozone and will circulate alongside the existing €10 note.
It's the second note in the new Europa series, after the new €5 note which was launched in May of last year.
The new note is the same size as the old €10 note, and looks similar, but has a number of new features designed to improve security and durability.
These include a portrait hologram of the Greek goddess Europa, a portrait watermark of Europa, and a series of raised lines along the note's sides.
A total of 2.1 billion €10 banknotes were circulating in the euro zone at the end of August.
