The gloves are off in the long-running spat between former Girls Aloud band members Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nadine Coyle.

It's no secret that the two don't get on but now Cheryl has reignited the row over why the top girl band split up in 2013 claiming that singer Nadine is "full of s**t".

X Factor judge Cheryl (31) made the comments when asked about Nadine's claims that she had never wanted the girl group to come to an end.

"She's full of sh*t. What d'you want us to say? She's full of sh*t," Cheryl said.

"She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the hiatus.

"She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No! She shouldn't tell porkie pies. She should remember why we took the hiatus after seven years so she could go and…"

Cheryl claimed that it was Nadine's solo ambitions that forced the group to break-up.

"OK, so do you want us to tell the truth? She wasn't going to make another Girls Aloud record until she got a solo deal," she revealed.

"I feel she held us to ransom and then made her solo record deal.

"It's the truth. She's saying that we broke the band up. So there you go."

Fans had been feeling sorry for Nadine (29) who claimed the girls' management and publicist came up to her on the last night of their Ten: The Hits Tour on March 20 2013 and told her that the band were finished.

"I was in hair and makeup, about to get into my costume, and the show was starting in 20 minutes," Nadine claimed at the time.

"I was shocked. I went back to my makeup lady and told her, and was like, 'F**k! I don't have a job! What am I going to do?'

"I screamed and cried on and off stage," she added.
