Medical groups and developers are expressing interest in the former Mount Carmel Private Hospital, which has gone on sale with a guide price of €12m.
The property on almost five acres in Churchtown has five state-of-the-art operating theatres and medical equipment and was substantially upgraded and expanded in recent years.
It includes day beds, 118 in-patient beds, laboratories, hi-tech medical equipment, delivery rooms, 10 consultant suites and an old convent building. It also has a car park for about 200 vehicles.
When it closed in January of this year, the 66-year-old hospital was the only private maternity hospital in the country.
The 330 staff at the time were stunned by the announcement. Staff initially staged a sit-in but their hopes were dashed when Health Minister James Reilly ruled out the health service taking over the building.
A spokeswoman for real estate service JLL said a lot of interest had been expressed.
It is for sale by tender and bids must be in by noon on Thursday, June 5.
