DRIVE: Volkswagen ambassadors Rosanna Davison and Bernard Brogan launched the VIP event
CAR manufacturer Volkswagen has revealed that it has loaned €62m to Irish customers buying its cars under its credit plan.
The company has said that one in three of its vehicle purchases is now financed by so-called personal contract plans.
Volkswagen ambassadors Rosanna Davison and Dublin football star Bernard Brogan, unveiled as an ambassador yesterday, were on hand to launch a new VIP sales event for the car maker. The company has offered the option of upgrading to hi-spec models for a reduced cost before December 20.
The deal has been offered by Volkswagen Bank. The finance arm has already this year lent €42m to motorists buying a new car and €20m for second-hand vehicles. Among the deals offered to motorists under the VIP plan, a buyer can purchase a Polo Comfortline model for €179 a month, saving €20, or a Golf Highline model for €256 a month, saving €23 a month.
