Mother's funeral will be Shane's second in days
Shane MacGowan's late mum, Therese (87), will be remembered in her home village in Tipperary this Sunday.
The Pogues star (59) had a devastating start to 2017 after his mother crashed her car into a wall on the outskirts of Nenagh on New Year's Day.
She was the only occupant of the car, and one theory being investigated is that she suffered a heart attack prior to the accident.
Mrs MacGowan is survived by Shane, her husband Maurice, daughter Siobhan and son-in-law Anthony.
A Requiem Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Silvermines, near Nenagh, followed by a private cremation.
It will be the second funeral Shane will have attended in the space of a week.
On Tuesday he attended the funeral Mass in St Argus of former Pogues tour manager Frank Murray.
The Fairytale Of New York star is being supported through this difficult time by his close circle of friends and family along with his long-term girlfriend Victoria Mary Clarke (50).
Author Ms Clarke thanked Shane's supporters for their "kind words and prayers through an emotional time" in a message issued on his behalf.
"Shane would like to say thank you and God bless you to all the people who are offering kind words and condolences. It means a lot," she said.
She added that people were being "overwhelmingly kind and lovely".
Shane has credited his mother - who was a noted singer for most of her life - as being one of the driving forces behind his choice of career, and said he grew up surrounded by music in their family home.
