Models used to be fast-food sinners, reveals Sarah Morrissey
These days, models seem to be constantly waxing lyrical about the virtues of kale and bikram yoga classes, but veteran model Sarah Morrissey says this wasn't always the case.
The former Miss Ireland started in the industry 10 years ago when girls wolfed down fast food and avoided the gym at all cost.
"When I started out in the industry hardly anybody exercised," she told the Diary.
"People would be working long hours, eating McDonald's, but over the years things have changed.
"Yoga and Pilates became big and now it would be rare to find a model who doesn't work out.
"I don't think people understood it all before," she added.
The 31-year-old is a poster girl for "strong is the new skinny" and said she has a "strict diet" and makes sure to exercise every day.
"It can be harder on days that I'm really busy, but I have a 25-minute routine I do in my bedroom," she said.
"If I can't go to the gym I'll do that last thing at night."
