missing andy helps genius celebrate milestone

Dublin clothing and footwear company Genius have thrown its lot in with one of Britain's best up-and-coming bands.

Essex band Missing Andy came to Dublin yesterday performed an acoustic set in the Genius store on Exchequer Street to celebrate the first birthday of the footwear outlet and the launch of Base London's autumn and winter range of boots and shoes.

"Base London is one the best-selling brands in our footwear store so we're pleased to release their fantastic range of 35 stylish leather boots and shoes that are in their autumn and winter collection," said Jason Kavanagh from Genius.

"Who better to launch the range than Missing Andy, a band that epitomise the brand's style.

"Our Exchequer Street store's been open a year, and it's been a great success, so what better excuse for a party," he added.

The main Genius clothing store is located at the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre on Dublin's Clarendon Street, while Genius Footwear is now firmly established 14 Exchequer Street.

The family-owned Irish company has been operating in Powerscourt since 1985.

Missing Andy formed in 2008 and have since released three albums, various EPs and have had two top 40 hits in the UK.
