She's loved-up with her entrepreneur boyfriend Mark O'Shea but new Xpose presenter Michelle Doherty is in no hurry to rush down the aisle.

"He's definitely The One," she told the Herald.

"He's a dote and a great man. He's met my mum and dad and they are mad about him.

"My mum keeps saying, 'Don't let him go,' and I say, 'Don't worry mum I won't'."

But Michelle (35) is unsure if there will be wedding bells in her future.

"I don't know if you can expect a wedding," she said. "I'm not that traditional really. We're happy as it is so we'll see how it goes."

Michelle and Mark have been dating for close to a year, and moved in to a plush London pad after just three months. "It was a bit of a whirlwind but we're still living together," she laughed.

DELIGHTED

The actress-turned-presenter landed TV3's Xpose gig and will cover for Aisling O'Loughlin while she's on maternity leave.

While Michelle is delighted to have got the job, she'll miss being apart from her man. "We live with each other and in each other's pockets so when I'm away from him it feels like I'm missing my left arm," she admitted.

"He knows that I should do this and is very supportive. So there will be lots of skyping sessions."

Michelle will take to the Xpose stage on Monday alongside Lisa Cannon and Karen Koster.

She said: "I'm being thrown in the deep end. It's sink or swim." But the IFTA-nominated star has plenty of experience under her belt; she previously fronted RTE2's Under Ether music show and Channel 6's Night Shift so she's well able for the challenge.

She added: "I'm not afraid of hard work and can't wait to start. I have been a fan of the show for years so was thrilled when I got the call."

FANS

And Michelle already has two die-hard Xpose fans waiting for her TV3 debut.

"My mum and dad are delighted because they can actually watch this.

"They wouldn't have tuned in to the other music shows I've done. They just said, 'What is all this racket?' and changed the channel.

"So they can watch this. And they are delighted to have me back home for a bit. It's also nice because I get to show off my girly side."

Asked if she'd like to stay at TV3 for longer Michelle remained coy.

She added: "I don't know – we'll see how it goes. I'm just focusing on the six month contract right now."
