Meet the WAGS who bowled over our cricketers

YOU already know the soccer WAGS, the golf WAGS and the GAA WAGS. Now, meet the cricket WAGS.

The wives and girlfriends of Ireland's cricket team cheered on their men as they took on Bangladesh in the opening match of the Cricket World Cup in India.

Ireland suffered a 27-run defeat but it didn't dampen the spirits of their most loyal supporters who cheered on from Krystle.

Dublin brothers Niall and Kevin O'Brien from Sandymount were the Irish stars of the day. Watching with pride in Krystle was Kevin's girlfriend Ruth-Anne Kilty (26), who is jetting out to Bangalore tomorrow.

Vanessa, wife of veteran Trent Johnston is also flying out. The couple, who have been married for 13 years, have two cricket-mad children, Claudia (10) and Charlie (7).

Medical rep Helena Grant (28) is off to watch see John Mooney. The couple, who have a daughter, Alisha (8), will marry next year.

Cricket player Nicola Murphy (28), from Lusk, would love to join boyfriend Albert Van Der Merwe. But with paramedic exams looming, she's at home and hitting the books.

The Ireland team's next match is on Wednesday, against England in Bangalore.
