A MAN was stabbed in the face and also knifed under his arm after a drinking session is believed to have turned nasty.

The 26-year-old suffered a deep would to his face in the vicious incident that occurred in Tallaght in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Gardai received a call shortly after midnight about a man having been stabbed in the Cushlawn Park area of the west Dublin suburb.

Estate

Sources say the stabbing happened during a drink-fuelled row in an open area of the housing estate.

As officers sped to the scene, they observed a blue Audi car driving erratically towards Tallaght Hospital.

When they pulled the car over they noticed four male passengers in the car, including the victim, who is said to have been badly cut up.

However, he declined to give officers a statement and was brought to the hospital for treatment.

Gardai have not received a complaint in relation to the case, and no arrests have been made.
