Man sent for trial on drugs charge

A DUBLIN man has been sent for trial on a heroin-dealing charge.

Barry Meates (35) had a book of evidence served on him at Blanchardstown District Court.

Mr Meates, of Kilwarden Court, Boot Road, Clondalkin, is charged with being in possession of heroin with intent to sell or supply at that address last April 25.

The alleged offence is under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A state solicitor said the DPP was consenting to the case being returned for trial to the next sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Judge David McHugh gave the accused the formal notice that he must provide to the State within 14 days details of any alibi he intends to rely on in the course of his trial.
