Lynda's hoping her hair salon will prove a cut above the rest
THE 98FM Best of Dublin award winners will be announced this week, and the Rum Toffee Creative Hair salon in Ballyfermot is hoping to snap up the prize for best hairdressers.
"We're over the moon to be shortlisted," owner Lynda Robinson-Hogan said.
The salon has been open for four years and the team have been honoured with numerous industry awards.
Lynda said she prides her salon on "excellent customer service".
"We're known for the great atmosphere in the salon," she said.
"I believe it's very important that our clients can have a bit of a laugh while getting their hair done in a professional manner.
"We want our customers to leave feeling ecstatic."
The salon's unusual name comes from a blend of hair dye, which is apt as the stylists are best-known for their colouring skills.
Lynda and her team of six have built up a solid client base of women of all ages since they first opened the doors.
"I took a risk opening during the recession but people always say if you can make it during a recession you'll do well," Lynda told the Herald.
Earlier this month, 98FM put out the call for nominations for the best the capital has to offer.
Categories ranged from people who contributed a little something extra to the city to the best place to grab a cup of coffee.
Thousands of votes have been registered, and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony tomorrow night.
DJ Adrian Kennedy will MC the event, which will be attend by everyone on the shortlist.
The Herald will bring news and pictures of all the winners on Thursday.
