Lucky escape for cyclist in lorry collision
A cyclist was lucky to escape without serious injury after he was involved in an early-morning collision with a lorry in the city centre.
It happened shortly after 9am yesterday at the junction of Guild Street and North Wall Quay near the Samuel Beckett Bridge.
Discharged
Onlookers feared the worst for the cyclist after the accident, which left the bike lying under the large tyres of the lorry.
The full extent of the cyclist's injuries were not released. He was treated at the scene.
However, gardai confirmed yesterday evening he had been discharged from the hospital.
Officers attended the scene shortly after the accident and traffic was redirected.
