He's best known for his part in gritty crime drama Love/Hate, but actor Aaron Heffernan looks set to make his mark on couches across Europe as part of a new project.
The Dublin actor (24), who played Garda Gavin in the fourth season of the hit RTE show, has jetted to Paris with comic pal Mark Mehigan. The pair are filming a "cross between a travel documentary and a comedy".
The show will see the two friends film their adventures and the people they meet as they 'couch-surf' across Europe, finding temporary accommodation in people's homes.
"Myself and Mark have been in cahoots for almost a year, working on comedy projects and we wanted to come up with something," Aaron told the Herald.
"We jetted off on Friday to Paris because we just wanted to drop ourselves in Europe somewhere and see how far we get.
"We've been on to people on sites like Airbnb, couchsurfing and others just to see what we could get involved in and to see where the next contact will take us.
"We have accommodation here in Paris until Wednesday, and then we're going to see where our contacts take us and how far we can go," he added.
Since their arrival, the duo have attended and filmed a boat party hosted by US rugby team captain Scott LaValla, competed in a bodyweight competition and now plan to get on French television by auditioning for a reality show.
"We have a casting for a Parisian reality TV show that we found on Craigslist, so that should be pretty interesting," Aaron said.
The Dubliner, who has been rehearsing for stage production Bears in Space, which will open in the Soho Theatre in London in August, said the comedy project was a spur-of-the-moment decision for both him and Mark.
"This is something that both of us turned around quite quickly," Aaron said. "It was just a few weeks ago that we decided to do it because we both had a gap."
