Love/Hate season five has lots of new faces
AS the country gets ready for season five of Love/Hate the Herald can reveal some new faces in the upcoming show.
Johnny Ward will play a character called Pauley in the next series, but this is no debut role for the 27-year-old actor.
He's already got lots of film and TV credits under his belt, recently taking part in The Centre with presenter and newly-wed Jennifer Maguire.
Ward had roles in Kirsten Sheridan's Doll House, RTE TV series Raw and This Must Be the Place where he starred alongside Eve Hewson and Sean Penn.
It is understood that the young actor, who has a large repertoire of accents from cockney to Texan and from Northern Irish to Dublin, has a significant role in season five.
He was seen on set on many of the filming days. Also understood to have a role in the Stuart Carolan creation is an actor called Dez McMahon.
He'll play a character by the name of Gary and by all accounts the Game of Thrones star will have a very active role.
McMahon is certified to use firearms [handguns and machine guns] and has undergone extensive combat training, according to his CV.
As well as Game of Thrones, the actor has had roles in Fair City, Vikings and Glenroe.
Also set to appear in the award-winning crime drama is 39-year-old Liverpool-born actor Bobby Marno who will play a garda in the upcoming series.
His recent work includes The Fall with Gillian Anderson and Jamie Doran.
A spokeswoman from RTE told the Herald that they will not be commenting on any cast members or roles until closer to the broadcast.
And the show's director David Caffrey has promised fans that the new season will leave them feeling satisfied.
The show's award-winning director said last April that people can expect "a lot of pay-offs".
