Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard jetted into Dublin Airport to film for a special show due to be broadcast this weekend.

The Longford lass and Curtis, who is an RTE Dancing With The Stars pro dancer, will meet up with more family and friends after the final of Love Island aired on Monday.

Curtis posted a photo from the plane on his Instagram saying: "Still can't believe we are out of the villa! Loving this journey with @maurahiggins and being in Ireland to meet her family and friends!"

They touched down on Irish soil in order to film a special segment for Love Island: Aftersun.

The pair will appear on the show alongside their finalist co-stars who are all currently celebrating their freedom from the villa in London.

Since landing in Dublin, Maura has shared a loved-up snap with Curtis on Instagram, telling followers: "It's great to be home."

Maura has already met Curtis's family after she was introduced to his brother AJ via FaceTime on Wednesday.

His parents visited him while he was in the villa, but left viewers amused when mum Debi struggled to pronounce "Maura".

Dancer AJ shared a screenshot from the FaceTime chat on his Instagram story, writing: "@curtispritchard12 See you soon. Hey @maurahiggins Great to actually meet you //via FaceTime."

Curtis and Maura came fourth in the final of the Virgin Media dating show, which was won by Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea, a rugby player from Limerick.

While Maura has returned to Ireland, Greg is still in London but is expected to be home soon for a homecoming party.

The couple had arrived in Stansted Airport on Wednesday morning after living together for nearly two months in Mallorca.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed the pair are in Ireland to film for Love Island: Aftersun which will be aired on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Greg's sister Laura O'Shea (28) told the Herald earlier this week that he has a busy week ahead, but his family hopes to throw a party for him at home.

"We're still working things out. He has commitments with ITV till the end of the week," she said.

"My dad is flying over to London for Aftersun on Sunday night. (The homecoming) will happen in Limerick, though, and we will let everyone know."
