Lotto mum hands her children €7m
A CANCER-survivor mum who scooped a mega €11.8m lotto jackpot is to splash the cash on her four children.
Evelyn McIntyre, from the tiny village of Ballyglass, Co Mayo, has revealed how she only bought the ticket after visiting a local newsagent to pick up her daughter's phone credit.
Her thrilled husband Martin said: "I double-checked the numbers every which way."
The lucky couple now plan to divide the money between themselves and their four children.
It means children Shane, Sandra, Stephanie and Michelle will scoop more than €1.8m each.
The couple, who are in their 50s, still have to travel to Lotto headquarters in Dublin to collect the prize.
Evelyn, who has battled breast cancer, also admitted that she and her family would splash out on a holiday, a new car -- and a new wardrobe.
The family has been described as "modest" and "humble" by their neighbours -- local priest Fr Kevin Hegarty says they are "one of the nicest families you will ever meet".
