Lottery winner gets driving ban

A LOTTery winner who splashed out almost £170,000 on a Ferrari after scooping a £6.4m (€8.9m) jackpot has been disqualified from driving for five years and fined £250.

Ryan Magee (34), from Eglinton, pleaded guilty at a Magistrate's Court in Derry to driving a Ford Focus car along the city's Foyle Bridge in December last year while disqualified and without insurance. The judge said the fact that Magee had 17 previous convictions, 12 of them for road traffic offence, was appalling.
