LinkedIn deal for Irish office

THE Irish arm of Ad2Onegroup.com, the international digital sales agency, has secured advertising rights for LinkedIn.

LinkedIn, the largest business social media network, currently has 60 million members in over 200 countries around the world. It means that Irish brands that need to advertise to professionals on LinkedIn both in Ireland and internationally can do this through their Irish office.

Other major websites represented by Ad2One which can be used by Irish advertisers include Ryanair, the Guardian and Wall Street Journal.



High levels for internet sales

IRISH businesses have a higher proportion of online sales than those in any other country, with firms claiming e-commerce drives 26pc of total turnover compared with 15pc in the UK.

However, the Irish Internet Association has warned that companies and Government bodies need to focus on their digital campaigns and websites to improve the potential of their sales.



Pigsback rolls out local plan

IRISH-owned marketing company, Pigsback.com, is rolling out a localised version of its core product offering.

The Pigsback Local initiative is headed up by Fintan Ryan who will oversee the roll-out of the business to over 18 different regions around the country.

"Only now are we making the connection between our members and their local restaurants, gyms, hairdressers, tradesmen and the likes," said Michael Dwyer, CEO.



600 jobs could go in BBC cuts

THE BBC has plans to close two radio stations and cut internet services as part of a strategic review.

The organisation also plans to cap spending on TV sports rights, slash expenditure on foreign shows such as Mad Men, and sell off of BBC magazines such as Top Gear.

Up to 600 BBC staff and freelancers could potentially lose their jobs.
