Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has said it was "special" to have his pop star girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger cheering him on to victory.
Hamilton secured his second F1 world title at the weekend Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
He is now in the running for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award, competing against other top sports people including golfer Rory McIlroy.
Hamilton said his relationship with former X Factor judge Scherzinger has not always been easy due to their work commitments and living in different countries, but spoke of the strength of their partnership after his win at the weekend.
"Having Nicole there at the weekend was special," he said.
"People could see the depth of our relationship and the sheer joy we share together."
The 29-year-old also said that while his focus will always be racing he, like his girlfriend, has a passion for music and he has made around 30 songs over the years.
But, despite support from top stars like Pharrell Williams and Timbaland, the champion driver said he is not sure he wants anyone else to hear his creations, adding that it is his way of relaxing and celebrating outside of racing.
